Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) has an exciting opportunity for a registered Health Practitioner to join our successful Hiwa-i-te-Rangi service.

TToH is a Ngāti Kahungunu mandated, kaupapa Māori, values-based health and social services organisation providing services to our community along the East Coast of the North Island, from Mahia to Rimutaka. Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully for whānau for over 38 years.

Our Hiwa-i-te-Rangi service is an integrated team of registered Health Practitioners and Mental Health Support staff who work with whānau in the low to moderate mental health area. We are an easily accessible, responsive service that provides practical and meaningful support for immediate needs and barriers to wellness for whānau .  

Reporting to the Team Manager, we are looking for an experienced Health Practitioner to support whānau with whānau driven, wellness support that promotes health, wellbeing, and independence.   Based at our large office in Orchard Road, Hastings, this is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm.  

This is a great opportunity to be part of a special integrated team that works together to provide the best whānau focused support possible, based on the individual’s needs and goals while also embracing a holistic and Kaupapa Māori approach. You will also be able to access the wide range of services that TToH offers to provide wrap around support for whānau.

The role is responsible for:

· Whanaungatanga – gathering information and details

· Matauranga – providing information and resources

· Mahi ora – creating individual and whānau hauora plans and assisting with implementing these plans

· Mahi toi, mahi wairua – therapeutic interventions

· Mahi Tahi – working as a team with whanau, other TToH services and other appropriate services in our community 

Suitable candidates will:

· Be registered Health Practitioners like a Social Worker, Addictions Practitioner or Counsellor (NZAC or DAPANNZ registered) 

· Have experience working in the area of Mental Health and Wellbeing

· Experience working in our local community

· Knowledgeable in Te Ao Māori and Te Reo or willing to learn

· Full, Current Drivers license

· COVID 19 Vaccination 

You must be non-judgmental and able to relate to all walks of life and a diverse range of whānau situations, which can be complex. You need to be assertive with a sense of empathy and compassion, while being able to calmly and effectively work through situations of conflict and crisis.
