Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a whānau-focused, Iwi mandated, kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. We have been supporting our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and general wellbeing for more than 37 years.

About us:
Hauora Heretaunga is a Bronze Cornerstone Accredited Teaching practice that aims to deliver quality, evidence-based primary care services to our population of almost 7000 patients using the Health Care Homes framework. We are a high-needs clinic, committed to improving inequities in our most vulnerable populations and making a difference to Māori Health. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to delivering holistic care.
Our practise is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm and there is a weekend roster working from the Totara Health premises.
Our Teams:
As part of our integrated model of care, you will work in a team with: Registered Nurses, Nurse Prescribers, Nurse Practitioners, a Clinical Pharmacist, On-site Dispensing Pharmacists, a Health Coach, a Health Improvement Practitioner, Administrators, Whanau Manaaki and other General Practitioners whose backgrounds vary including GPEP trainees, RNZCGP Fellows, Overseas Trained General Practitioners and those on Locum Contracts.
We are looking to set up our third integrated team and need GP’s to fill 1.7 FTE.
We are open to candidates working part-time hours as an Employee, Contractor or Locum – whatever suits you ! We are happy to consider candidates from GPEP2 and beyond, including overseas candidates, and are willing to consider different working arrangements.
Reporting to the GP - Clinical Lead, you will be supported by our very experienced Hauora Leadership team and a committed, experienced, professional practice workforce.
Being part of the wider Taiwhenua health and services organisation, we also have access to the many services delivered on site including but not limited to, Oranga Niho (Dental),Tamariki Ora, School-based Nursing Teams, Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol and Housing.
Our Hauora service is also supported by our professional corporate teams of Quality and Risk, Health and Safety, Support Services, HR, IT, Finance, Marketing.
