Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is seeking a Dentist to work with us in our successful and innovative health and social services organisation. 

TToH is a Ngāti Kahungunu mandated, Kaupapa Māori organisation providing services to our community along the East Coast of the North Island. Hauora Heretaunga is our cornerstone accredited dental service that delivers quality, evidence-based services to our 1500 enrolled patients. We operate a mixed model with a focus on high needs funded care. We work to improve the health of our community, and are committed to improving inequities in our most vulnerable populations and making a difference to Māori Health.

We have some chair time available in one of our clinics and are looking for a Dentist keen to work with us on a part-time basis to help us meet the needs of our contracts, our Rangatahi services, and our private patients . We have around 30 hours a week available in total and we would be flexible for the right person or people who want to support the community with their work.

This flexibility means that whether you wanted the full 30 hours or if you preferred to come work with us for 1 or 2 days a week, or even if you wanted to come locum with us for a while, we want to talk to you!  You can join as an employee or contractor - we are flexible !

The successful applicant will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry
  • Current Practicing Certificate
  • Radiation License
  • Knowledge of health and social issues and barriers affecting Māori health and well-being
  • The willingness and competency to treat a range of people and work in a variety of clinical work settings
  • Proven experience working effectively with the community.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to promote dental health messages into the community effectively
  • Knowledgeable in Te Ao Maori and Te Reo or willing to learn
  • Full, Current Drivers license
  •  Full COVID 19 Vaccination
