Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is a well-respected, health and social services provider, supporting our local community in Hawkes Bay and whānau throughout the East Coast of the North Island. Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully with whānau for over 37 years.
We provide mental health support using kaupapa Māori values and deliver mental health support with aroha and compassion. Our Mahea service provides Mental Health and Addiction/Oranga Hinengaro services for rangatahi/youth populations aged 12-24 years.
Mahea has been designed to expand the continuum of support, treatment and therapy available for young people experiencing distress and promote early detection and intervention to prevent the escalation of mental health issues for rangatahi/youth.
Mahea is a collaboration between Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga, Kahungunu Executive, Whatever It Takes Trust and Emerge Aotearoa. These four organisations have partnered to deliver Mahea to youth across the Hawke’s Bay region.
This is an exciting opportunity to be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team to effectively contribute to positive outcomes for rangatahi/youth. We are looking for a skilled and experienced Counsellor/Mental Health Practitioner to join the TToH Mahea team. The successful applicant will manage a caseload of tamariki/rangatahi and work in partnership with other members of the Mahea team to empower, motivate and build the resilience of tamariki/rangatahi and support their journey towards achieving Mauri Ora.
