He Korowai Aroha is a new Kaupapa Māori well-being service focused on supporting whānau to provide nurturing environments that support pēpi, tamariki and whānau to thrive and reach their full potential. This service will provide a community-based whare for mama, papa and whānau to come together for support throughout pregnancy and for the first 2000 days (the first five years).
TToH is a whānau focused, kaupapa Māori values-based, health and social services organisation providing services across the Kahungunu rohe. Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully with whānau for 39 years.
We are looking for a Counsellor who will provide high quality, professional and effective counselling services for whānau in a safe and welcoming environment. As part of this integrated team of Social Worker, Rongoā Practitioner and a Support Worker, you will be delivering whānau centred care that supports healthy whānau relationships and improved outcomes for whānau.
Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū te haere | What you'll need to be successful:
§ A minimum Level 6 qualification in Counselling and registration with relevant authority (or be working towards) i.e. DAPANZ or NZAC
§ Knowledge and experience relating to providing maternity and early years care and support
§ An ability to build strong connections to empower, motivate, educate and encourage māmā and whānau to build upon their strengths and achieve their aspirations
§ A commitment to providing whānau centred and integrated care to māmā, pepi and their whānau
§ Culturally competent with a commitment to the kaupapa of Te Hā O Te Mokopuna model of care
§ Awareness of, and a commitment to understanding the implications for Maori health that are implicit in the Treaty of Waitangi
§ Hold a clean, current and valid Full Driver’s License
